Paralosgallery is the trading name of Louise Bryan, and is based in Nafplion, Greece.
With over twenty five years in the business, Louise Bryan started her career in Cecil Court in 1985, as manager of No 1, specializing in Music, Opera & Ballet prints; whilst at the same time travelling throughout the UK and Europe working with the Trade as a wholesale print dealer. With Panagiotis Chantziaras she established Paralos Ltd. in London in 1997, working with the trade and private customers and dealing in Antiquarian Maps, Prints and Books.
They were later joined by Tim Bryars, and travelled and exhibited through out Europe, every month at the renowned Bonnington Map Fair and each year at the June International fairs in London.
With an amicable split in June 2004 Paralos Ltd moved to Greece, and Tim to his eponymous shop in Cecil Court. Located first in Corfu, and then in central Athens, merging with Panagiotis’ shop Saliminia in 2007, Paralos Ltd. continued to deal internationally,
whilst having one of the largest stocks of Greek material in their shop in Panepistimiou, and then at Kydathinaion 15 in Plaka , supplying all the needs of the Greek collector.
In 2010, it was finally decided to go global and on to the internet with paralosgallery.com ; Louise would concentrate on the website, and Panagiotis open a new gallery in Nafplion old town.
Having for so many years been associated with the “ship” that is Paralos it was decided to retain the “ Paralos” appellation for this new venture. At the same time Panagiotis has relaunched her sister ship “Salaminia” for the warm waters of the home port, at Platea Spiliadou in Nafplion.
Louise Bryan is a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association [ABA] and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers [ ILAB]. She is a regular exhibitor at the London Map Fair at the Royal Geographical Society each June.
